As suspected, no text from GRJ until after she left town here & was back home, an hour away. Roads are fine, so there's really no reason for her not to stop by, as her ma only lives maybe 5 minutes from me. I'm not going to return her text tonight; maybe not even this week, I'm just kind of over it.
I did go over to have x-mas dinner w/my g'ma at the assisted living facility. She's doing fine, we talked for a couple hrs & walked down to the dining area for a nice little dinner.
My bio-cuz is the only other person to contact me today. I realized that I'm fine with this - I've been "not celebrating" x-mas for so many years, I don't really expect to hear from anyone else today, because, why would they if I don't celebrate it, right? (The GRJ thing is different because she's never down here.)
As an aside, I just realized the teenager two doors down from me is a drug dealer. I've been noticing (on and off for months) that every so often, I'd see a car sitting out in front of my/the next-door neighbor's house, then leave. Since the other neighbor (away from the kid) is an apt building with 4-5 units, I've been assuming it was just people waiting on someone there. Well, last night, I noticed a car parked directly in front of my house. I leave my lights off downstairs all the time, as well as having no porch lights, so I decided to sit & see what they were doing (I don't like people in front of my place, it weirds me out). Well, I see this kid walk out, get in the back seat, the dome light comes on & he hands one of the passengers a bag. I couldn't see what it was - it could have been innocent, like a craigslist sale or something, I don't know. Anyway, a half hour later (after heading back downstairs again) I see a different car parked in front of my apt-neighbors' place. I sit down to watch again & within a few minutes, the same kid comes out. This time he just walks up to the driver's door, they exchange something & he goes back in. Today, I've seen the same thing happen (with each car being unique) three (now five, as of midnight) separate times, spread out through the day (even having been gone for a few hours). I did manage to get a few pics of the car, and the kid getting in & out, but it was just my phone & they were pretty blurry.
Normally I don't care what a person does in the privacy of their own home, but to have a bunch of people I don't know getting drugs in front of my house? That bothers me. They become familiar with the area, and that could lead to break-ins (of which we've had several over the summer, including a car being stolen two streets over). I plan on calling the police tomorrow, but I want to meet them elsewhere. I want this kid to be caught, not just move his shit to another street. That probably won't happen if a patrol car shows up, it'll probably just spook him. I'm going to ask if there's anything I can do to help them (like pictures, dates/times/vehicles/etc. I don't want to come across like a prude or anything; I mean if it was just him & the same couple friends, I'd probably write it off because I know tons of people who partake (and have myself on occasion). I just don't want the entire druggie-nation of this city on my front lawn.
Thoughts? Should I leave it alone? Say something to the kid about doing it elsewhere? Tell him I won't say anything if he hooks me up for free!? ;-) Or pursue the path I discussed? I'm open to hearing other reasonable opinions/ideas.
p.s. I wish there was some place open tonight so I didn't have to sit in this house alone. At least I stopped off for some diet coke before coming home so I can have a few drinks & try to forget my isolation.
