I'm starting to really settle in to my flirtatious side - I got to talk with several uniquely attractive women tonight, and was charming, talkative, and in no way awkward. One gal was the bartender at the chain restaurant I think I mentioned a couple entries ago. I think she's latino? Her name is (hrmm, what should I call her? I guess "E" for now, until I find out her last name, or come up with an appropriate nickname!), and she's freakin' adorable! Each time I go in, she talks to me all the time. In fact, she usually initiates things, which is terribly helpful for me, because I feed off that energy. Too many topics, too many details, but she's supposed to come up to Lou's for open mic next week, and I think I have her talked into going to the newest brew pub downtown too. If she hasn't gone by next Wednesday, I'm going to ask her to go with me, because she seems really open to it/me.
After dinner, I headed to the Dog to meet MB & hang for a bit. There was a well-known 30s-40's sounding local band playing, and I ran into several people I know. I also managed to notice that I was getting a few sidelong glances from a couple attractive ladies. Although I didn't do anything about it, it was a bit of an ego boost! I left after a bit & headed to Lou's, while MB went to Shakes to see a CD release show (a friend of ours was playing the last slot). I ran into a buddy of mine and his O/L at Lou's and ended up talking with them for a while. Turns out she's somewhat spiritually "sensitive" and we had a long discussion about hauntings/residual energies, and being empathic, etc. It was also a really interesting conversation, and, although I tried to put it out of my head in deference to my buddy, I found her quite interesting/attractive as well. Another ego boost, I guess!
So, after a bit, I left and showed up to the Dog to meet up with MB, and ended up sitting with him and this really cute red-head that was at a booth. After a couple minutes of pleasantries/small-talk, she & I started finding things to talk about. We seemed to have tons of things in common, had a lot of eye contact & smiles, etc. Unfortunately, it turns out she was married (always the goddamned case!), but I just kind of tuned that out & acted like it didn't matter. And I guess after all, it didn't - she was really cool,(and I also found her quite attractive) and I ended up having a few great conversations with her, in between songs/sets.We really hit it off, which is somewhat depressing since, as I said, it always seems to be the case that all the cool, attractive women are spoken for! >.< Anyway, I left there and went back to Lou's (it was "Pride" weekend here in town, and Lou's was having a drag show in the back room). Place was packed, but who do I run into again? My buddy's O/L! She gives me a hug and (as we spent a lot of time talking about the paranormal) she asks for my number so she can call me about our local "Ghost Hunters" group in town, to see if maybe we can do something with it. I felt a little awkward that my bud's lady was asking for my number, but as far as I was concerned, it was innocent enough, and if there was trouble, she could explain it! Anyway, again, flattering, even if it didn't mean much.
I ended up closing down Lou's tonight. (Yes, I had several drinks, even though I had strongman today, and I ended up running again tonight.) As I was leaving, a guy & gal started asking me about my cycle (as it was parked right out front). They introduced themselves (he, as her father, which I found out later was incorrect - he was her uncle, according to the girl), she talked about being raised on a harl3y gas tank & asked if I'd take her for a ride around the block really quick. I asked him if it was cool, he said yes, so I told her to jump on! It was really nice having someone holding on closely while we rode, and I really enjoyed it while it lasted (a whole 5 minutes maybe? Didn't want to worry the old guy). We got back & they mentioned it being the first time they'd been there. I made sure to inform them that this wasn't a typical evening, and that the place tended to be a little more blue-collar and not as open-minded. The guy then asked me if I was gay (due to the scene there, I assume) and I told him no, I'[m straight, at which point he admits that he is (not sure why, but it's cool) . We talked a bit about how great it was that the scene was expanding & gaining acceptance, etc. The girl, on the ride back, asked me if, were I around the next weekend, if I would take her for a ride again. I told her that it was likely, if I made it out there. So, I have that to look forward to, along with hopefully seeing E this Wed.
Oh! I forgot to mention that I went out to a semi-local antique store a friend of mine is running (saw a facespace spot about it being open today & having never been out there, I thought it was time for a road trip). Was an interesting experience! Was a great little shop, but it was set up in the town's old bank/sheriff's dept. Everything was fine until you got to one back room - everything felt 'heavy', muted, etc. Apparently, according to research, that room was the old jail cell, and my friend (who is also empathic) thinks that it might be a residual energy, maybe of "the town drunk", as it feels really heavy in there, although not malevolent/evil in any way. She told me she never goes in there anymore. I went, and within 30 seconds, felt the oppression/weight of the room. Left for a couple minutes, came back and made an effort to wander through the entire room, but by the time I made it to the back, my legs were starting to feel wobbly, and I had to leave. My friend AJ said it's been like that for ages, so I offered to bring her some of my sage so that she could cleanse the energy in the room. (speaking of which, I have to take that out to her in the next couplefew days.)
Anyway, I mentioned it for two reasons: 1) this is what got me started on the "empath" conversation at Lou's, 2) I scored a great set of highball glasses & coasters there! Pretty excited about getting them out & set up!
Fuck, I'm starting to fall asleep. Going to head to bed. If you read all of this, congrats! It'll likely be gone when I wake up in the morning and realize I may have over-shared... ;-)
