So rather than just sit & play the waiting game, I decided to write to CC again last night & ask if I'd said something "wrong" (paraphrased) in my last email, since I hadn't heard back from her & she specifically asked me to write at her work email so she wouldn't miss any reply I sent. To my surprise, she wrote back right away (was an email waiting for me this morning!) saying she was sorry, made a point to explain that it was nothing reflecting on me at all, she'd just been busy, and somewhat bummed out recently. When I had mentioned something about her ever making it back near my area in my email, it apparently bummed her out even more. Of course, I *more* than understand that, as I have that same issue quite often. She said she'd write me back properly (meaning, with more content/details) as soon as she got a chance. I'm going to write to her today & let her know that I'll be patiently waiting to hear from her, so she knows I got her message. I know that I'd appreciate the same, if the table were turned.
I stayed in last night & watched the "Ghost Hunters Live" special on tv. During the commercials, I also got the plastic shrink-wrap insulation on all the living room windows. I was upset that I couldn't stay awake to see the end of it (I made it all the way to midnight, but it was going 'til 1am, & I was far too tired for that), so I'll have to go online tonight & see what all went down - either that, or maybe they'll have an encore presentation of their findings; that would be so much better! Anyway, one thing I've learned about how I work? As long as I have the supplies I need close at hand, I actually *can* get things done around the house. The only time I slack, is when I have to go out & buy shit, because I can never get myself to go do it.
So, I'm looking at couches/sectionals, now that I'm close to having the living room done. This one caught my eye, as well as this one. As my LR has tan/beige walls & a dark chocolate color for the trim, I want to go with a dark brown leather for the furniture. I'm actually leaning towards the first, even though it's a microfibre seating surface - I just really like the style. I really dig the "squareness" of the other though (and I don't mean "squaresville", ya square!) (I wonder if that slang translates across the pond!?)
Thing is, I just paid off my credit card for my furnace, and I'm nervous now, because my savings account is shrinking & I don't like it. I'm definitely not going to have enough to get the living room and the bedroom done any time soon. Well, hopefully now that I'm getting a good feel for my monthly bills, I'll be able to swing some purchases from my checking account. I know the bed frames I'm considering are fairly inexpensive, so I might be able to get that, the paint, and maybe a side table on the cheap. The mattress is going to be another story though - those things a fucking ridiculous! It's also damn near impossible to find a mattress that's *not* a pillow-top. I can't stand those things! I want a firm, solid, non-fluffy mattress; I don't want to sink into it, nor do I want to feel like I'm "floating on a cloud" or any other such nonsense. I've actually been thinking about checking out those "sl33p numb3r" beds, you know, the ones with the air pump? Seems like I could make that damn thing firm as I'd want! I'll have to look into the warranty details though - I can see that possibly being a problem.
I went out to the garage last night & grabbed the fuel stabilizer, so I can top off the tank on the car. I'm going to park/store it sometime in the next week or so. I got the leaking tire repaired, so the only thing left to do is pull the battery (once parked) and possibly pick up some concrete blocks to put it up in the air. I might not do that though, because it's going to need tires in the spring, and I'm not sure it'll be worth the hassle. One thing I'm not looking forward to is getting work done on the truck. It's been leaking oil pretty bad ever since I've owned it, and I really need to correct that, but I'm concerned with the cost. Also, I haven't taken the cycle in for the brake work yet, and that's going to be a bit pricey as well, like $5-600 range. Shit, between those two, I might not even be able to get my damn LR furniture for another couple months!! >.<
Ok, back to work...
p.s. Man, I'd really like to see CC again... *sigh*
edited to add: found this one while at work today. I really dig it, but I'm not sure it'll work in my place, with the area rugs I have...
