Just as I suspected - woke up this morning and my legs were soooooore! The worst part about starting to work out again is the first couple weeks of DOMS (and I don't mean women in leather & chains brandishing a riding crop, etc! Delayed-Onset Muscle Soreness).
Tried to go out to see a buddy's band play last night, had a burger & a couple beers, but for some reason became really apathetic (or maybe just tired?) and had to leave before they took the stage. Ran into the guy who was with one of the drunk birds (anyone still use that term? I think I'm gonna bring it back...) I gave a cycle ride to a week or so ago. She'd taken her earrings off & stuck them in my jacket pocket, but since we never exchanged phone #'s, I'd no way to get them back to her. Well, guy gave me her number, so I'm going to call her this week. Wish she was someone I'd actually be interested in dating, but she's neither my physical type, nor intellectual (from what little I could gather on a motorcycle), and she has a kid. (Strike three, yer out!) Still I'm sure she'll be happy to get her earrings back, I just hope she doesn't make a big stink about wanting to go out; I really don't enjoy being direct/honest with people about that, but honesty is the best thing in those situations, and I know I'd want that if the roles were reversed.
I have to stop down to the post office today & stop mail delivery at my old address. I'm going to have to get a PO box, as I don't want my old lender's correspondence to be forwarded to the new place. I'll sort through the mail I get, then contact the various businesses directly to change my address.
On another topic, I was contacted last week by a recruiter in Florida, of all places - said he'd found my resume on a website, and thought I'd be a good candidate for the job he had. We talked a couple times through email about the situation. Long story short, I was supposed to contact him by phone yesterday to discuss submitting my resume, and I left a message on his cell (business line was just a busy signal), but he never called me back. I sent him an email today saying that I had to assume the position had been filled, but that I hoped he'd keep me in mind for the future. I'm wondering if he'll get back to me!? I wasn't really sure I would even consider moving, sionce I just got this new place, but if it had been a really good deal, I might have - I mean, the house is paid for, I could rent it out or something, for a year or three...
I think I'm going to call a heating/cooling place or two today & arrange to have some estimates done. I really need to get on this furnace thing, because it's getting surprisingly cold at night recently. Hopefully, this doesn't indicate an early end to the season, because this is a miserable state without our hot summers, and I'll be very disappointed if it's gone for the year. I really hope it's not going to cost as much as I fear it will. If I can find a good deal, I might actually be able to get a refrigerator & stove soon! I'm already getting tired of eating out every freakin' day. Ugh.
Work calls - I need to win the damn lottery. *sigh*
