Finally got my new cycle out of storage today, but on the ride home the clouds got really dark & I could smell the rain in the air, so I brought it home & parked it in the garage. Hasn't rained yet, but didn't want to take a chance.
It's a long weekend for me due to the Memorial Day holiday, and the weather looks to be fairly good for a few day-trips around the lower portion of the state. I have some vacation time coming up at the end of June, and have been debating on heading north (if hotels are open by then). I know Flood lives in TC, maybe I'll hit him up for advice on a place to stay for a few days? I haven't been to TC since I was a kid & my aunt & uncle lived there. I don't really remember a thing about it, other than a sweeping left-hand curve on a highway heading into town, and the house/road where he lived.
Anyway, I have a lot of accessories to put on the bike, and I'm planning on starting that tomorrow - some of them are small, while some will be time-consuming. A couple of them should make longer rides a bit more comfortable, so I'm hoping they're not too difficult. I won't be doing the fender any time soon, I think. Once I get it finished, I may try to install it myself, but I haven't decided yet. Same thing with the new exhaust. I *think* the exhaust should be easy, but I don't know if I want to risk not being able to get it back together & being unable to ride it. I guess maybe I'll wait a bit. Anyway, I'd forgotten how much more comfortable this bike is compared to the old one, and I'm looking forward to getting some more miles on it!
(And I just realized that I must be feeling better, because I'm actually writing quite a bit, which is something I haven't felt able to do recently.)
