So, after that 'cold exposure' night a couple days ago, I woke up the next morning with a sore throat & some sinus congestion. I wasn't sure if it was an illness, or just a back/neck misalignment issue, but after I got up & had some coffee, it improved, so I assumed the latter. Just to be safe though, after coffee, I did 5 rounds of the breathing method, along with some other breath-work, and both the sinus and sore throat issues were gone for the rest of the day!
Unfortunately, about the time I was heading to bed, they came back, and sleeping last night was... uncomfortable? Stuffy head, back/neck issues still, and a bit of that congestion getting into my lungs now, so I'm thinking that yes, I did overdo it. I'm having coffee now, and am working on the back issues (which seem to be improving things, as I can still breathe through my nose), but I think I'll be doing the breathing again today, probably 2-3 times.
I was in this situation last February, I think, and usually by this point (in years past), I would be loading up with OTC decongestant/expectorant meds. Last year, I managed to get through it with none, and it was gone in two days, so that's my goal this time. I really don't feel too bad, other than my sinuses & my ears feeling full (I always got ear infections as a kid). I don't think it will be an issue this time, and this is another opportunity to prove to myself that this breathing really works, and it's not just coincidence that I haven't been sick. This type of illness always lasted at a couple weeks before, so if I can reduce it to a couple days? Yeah, that would be good.
I had more to write about, but I'm not sure I want to get into it. Just the basic 'holiday/vacation blues' sorts of things. Maybe I'll write more eventually...
