Just got back in from the garage - not sure why, but yesterday, after months of not thinking about it, a solution to the ignition problem on the Dodge popped into my head, and since today was going so well, I decided to tackle it.
Took less than 30 minutes to figure out how the wiring was incorrectly routed, and to splice up a solution. Used to be, I couldn't get the car to run unless I ran the + coil wire to the + solenoid connection, which meant having to pull the battery lead to shut the car off.
After two false starts, the engine will both start & shut off using only the key! That's a big step towards getting it on the road. Monday, I have to call about ordering new pre-bent brake hard lines & fuel lines. Once those are in, I can start working on getting it driveable. I really want to get it on the road this summer & once I have those lines, I should have all the parts I need to do so.
