I'm not surprised - had great weather for my annual visit today, so it doesn't surprise me that it was the only redeeming part of the whole thing (well, aside from the fact that I finally got to figure out where they moved the placard after removing it from the crypt in which they were originally interred).
Within 5 minutes, dogs started barking, and did so on & off the rest of the time I was there. This was such an issue for me because I've been having a lot of trouble at home with neighbor dogs barking all the time & it drives me crazy! Then, maybe 10 minutes after that started, the caretaker staff fired up some heavy equipment tractor/end loader & started moving shit around, making a lot of banging/engine noise. I only stayed maybe 30 minutes before I got fed up with it. When I was leaving, I was greeted with a lovely site - and end-loader carrying what I assume was an old, dirty/rusty in-ground burial vault (based on what I looked up online when I got back to work), right past me. I couldn't even look at it, I had to turn my head & hold my hand up to avoid it. The whole time I was thinking "I wonder if someone's in there" & I just felt so uneasy/uncomfortable. I had to wait for them to go by before I could even start the truck & drive away.
I guess I'm still glad I went, but I'll take shitty, cold, snowy weather over having to deal with this again, any day. I'm sadder than I should be now.
