So I managed to injure myself a bit this weekend. There's a little slope next to my driveway (into the neighbor's yard) that drops about a foot - I was coming home on the bike and went to put my foot down for balance. The grass was wet, as it had been raining, and my foot slipped out, and the bike went right over, with me still on it.
I landed really hard on my left side, like, wind-knocked-out-of-you hard. broke the mirror off the clutch mount, but the worst part was that, because of the slope, I couldn't get the bike back up. Had to leave it there on its side overnight until I could get a friend to stop over & help me out. It's in the garage now - everything works, so overall not a big deal, but I've had to use my remaining (scavenged) vicoden/hydrocodone to even get through yesterday, and they did little more than take the edge off the pain. Nothing is comfortable; sitting, lying, standing, walking. I don't think I broke anything, but in trying to determine if I had, I ended up popping three ribs back in place by pressing on the front of my chest. Damn, that hurt! At least I'm pretty sure that there's nothing wrong with my back, so I'm guessing it's just soft-tissue/muscle strain. Today seems to be a bit better, pain-wise, but the left side of my chest is really getting tight.
I'm sure I'll be ok in a few days, but I was supposed to start back into my routine today - not going to happen. Hopefully next week, because I didn't do anything last week either & this will make 2 weeks of slacking. :-(
