Was up again this morning for a run, had my stuff already on, then checked the weather website for the temp.
GOD.DAMNED. 0°!
Since I was dressed to go, I went out anyway, but that was a cold motherfucker this morning! I've decided that I'm not going to run in the morning if it's below 8-10°F. I actually can handle that, but that's it.
On a positive note, the cold temps are keeping me from running too fast, and it seems to be helping, as anything between 1-1.5 miles now is no sweat (figuratively speaking!). I can't wait for it to warm up so I can see how much my times will improve. (not that I'm timing myself yet, but I will soon.)
On a negative note, I'm having back issues again, although I've finally isolated my problem area. I have issues will T10-T11 going out, and it causes me no end of problems, physically, because it throws the rest of my back (upper, mostly) of of alignment, causing bad headaches, tingling nerves down my arms/face on occasion, and it really decreases my strength/comfort when lifting. I still do it (carefully, of course) because if I only lifted when I was feeling good, I probably never would. I do use a belt on squats & deadlifts, and it helps a lot, but I think I need to do more direct core work.
I've been noticing, the past week or two, that I think I'm actually feeling good for a change. Like, positive, (dare I say) upbeat, almost happy!? No drinking since new year's day, don't think I've even been to a bar/venue (just the pub for lunch). Don't really miss it anymore. Now I just need to find some friends around here - friends that aren't alcoholics. *rolls eyes*
