Got a couple text messages tonight from a number I didn't recognize. They appeared to be from a girl to a guy, and seemed to be about some kind of beginning-relationship drama of some sort. I looked up the number online & discovered that the name associated with it was the same first name as the cute girl I ran into a few weeks back (the one I met through Bo, that I've had a crush on for years). It's unlikely to be someone else, because the name is *very* unusual.
I texted back & told her I'd looked up the number, & that I wondered if it was her, told her my first name, then told her I thought she might have sent them to the wrong person. Her text back to me was basically "Ha, wrong (*my name*)"! I went ahead and sent her a text back saying that if it *was* her, she should let me know if she had some free time, and that I'd like to see her again. She replied with "for sure!"
Now, this is both good and bad - good, because she seems open to hanging out again sometime, yet bad, because it means that all this time, she's had my number in her phone and never felt there was enough reason to contact me. Although, I guess the fact that she hung on to my number rather than deleting it after all these years is positive thing, right?
Hrmm...
Oh, and btw, don't ask me why I just thought of this, but here's something we say at work all the time...
