...because I never was a funny guy unless borrowing from someone else...
A few new developments:
I overdid it with a workout on Tuesday and haven't been able to lift since. Been to the chiropractor twice last week, but just last night it started to feel better. I'll find out tonight if I can get back into the full routine or not. While I was busy *not* working out, I slipped back into drinking mode - not horribly, but 3-5 drinks a night each night. Last night, I just had a few beers at home while working on the kitchen, which isn't a big deal. The guy I've been doing strongman training with just entered a competition this past Saturday (which is why we didn't train Saturday either), came in 2nd, and qualified for Nationals. Pretty cool for him!
Between the new cycle seat I ordered last week, and the new tires I had to put on this past Saturday, I just dropped a grand on my bike. Totally worth it, but even though I have the money, dropping that kind of bread on anything makes me a little uncomfortable. I also haven't had any luck selling either of my vehicles yet, and that's starting to annoy me. I'm the worst car salesman ever - I'm too honest about everything. I don't mean to imply one should lie about anything when selling a car, I wouldn't do that. I just need to remember that I don't need to explain every little thing; it makes people nervous. After all, it's a (just recently dropped to) $1200 car, wtf do they expect, perfection? FFS, I just put brand new tires on it, so it's like they're getting the car for $800-900!
I'd mentioned a while ago about my relief that the foreclosure I went through didn't kill me when taxes came around. In fact, it didn't cost me one cent extra! Well, on that topic, my mortgage holder was one of the "big 5" or so that were sued under a class-action lawsuit brought about by my state's attorney general. I got a mailing several months ago telling me I was eligible to join, and that I might be looking at around an $800 settlement when all was said & done. I researched it best I could to ensure it wasn't a scam, then submitted my info. Months went by, I didn't hear anything about it. I was beginning to think that nothing happened, or that they lost the suit, but a couple weeks ago, I got a check in the mail. It was a settlement check for almost $1500! Needless to say, I was pretty excited about that! I need to deposit it pretty soon, but I haven't decided what I want to put it towards.
I'm 90% done with finally getting the plumbing situation in my kitchen resolved. I've leak tested the supply lines and things look ok, but haven't been able to test the new drain pipe, as it's not entirely done. All that's left is to seal the tie-in to the cast iron stack in the basement and install the new circuit board in the dishwasher. Hopefully at that point I can start cooking at home finally. And I really need to because while this weight lifting is helping to put a bit of size on me, it's doing nothing for fat loss. I need to add running back into my routine, but after my heavy lifting, I just don't have the energy. I think that cleaning my diet up will help with that greatly. Anyone have any tips on getting back into running, aside from just doing it? I was never much of a runner, but I'd gotten to the point of running a 5k in just about 32 minutes, which I think isn't bad for a 200+ lb guy who'd only been running less than a year!?
