just got home a little bit ago from my 2nd-ever live gig, and man, before things got underway, i was really nervous, because yet again, the guys had "technical difficulties". first, the power supply for the subwoofer (for the drums) had broken off ages ago, but apparently somebody tipped it & broke the repair. we spent 20 minutes trying to solder it back together, with no luck. then the stage-right p.a. had no signal at all, so they had to run with a spare which, fortunately, they'd brought. a couple other minor issues cropped up, but they got everything under control.
we went on first, and although we did flub a few spots, it went pretty well - well enough that 4-5 of the other band's members came up to us & told us we sounded great, really tight, and the sound mix was really good too. i was pretty geeked, because last show we played, there were maybe 3-4 people; this time, there had to be at least 40 people! two of my coworkers showed up with their wives & afterwards said we were great, and wanted me to let them know next time we played, because they definitely want to come check us out again!
the other two bands were a lot of fun too - totally different styles than us (and each other), but it blended really well, i thought. i'd play a show with either of them any time in the future, no hesitation.
ugh, i'm beat, time to get to bed.
