I don't like cold weather.
I live for summer weather, the hotter the better. I've vacationed in Key West around the 4th of July and thought it was perfect. +90 during the day, humidity +50% (at least)... SImply gorgeous!! Today, in Michigan, it's not supposed to even hit 60 today - it's only 45 right now, and it's almost noon! Drastic changes in weather don't treat me well, physically. It tends to wear me down, and sort of, I don't know... "compress" my energy. The only way I can think to describe it is if you're familiar with Kirilian photography. One's "aura", or energy body extends out beyond their physical body. For me, in warm weather, I feel like my aura is really extended - I feel like I fit my body correctly. (Yes, I know this probably sounds odd, bear with me!) In cold weather? I feel like it barely reaches my skin, and that I'm really small, and living in a big shell of a body; a big, cold, drafty shell. It's hard for me to keep warm, my hands/feet always seem to be cold, etc, and I get congested easily, which is the case today. Of course, part of that congestion may be due to the mislaignment issues I had worked on at the chiropractor's last night. My "atlas" vertebrae was grossly out of alignment, and as soon as he adjusted that, my head cleared up quite a bit (meaning, I could actually breathe through my nose!). I'm guessing that I'll need a few adjustments to be right again, but I feel a lot better now. Still congested this morning, but since I refuse to ever be "sick", I'm sure it'll be gone in a day or so.
Can't remember how much I wrote about the furnace-a/c quotes I've gotten... one was for $8500, one for $9500, and I never heard back from the third. Called a guy my realtor told me about who has his own company, and he quoted better, but not by a lot - $7200, roughly. I asked him if he would consider just hooking things up & running duct work, if I bought the heat-a/c units myself, and he said he would. I ordered them both last night (I have to send a signed authorization form today), but I found the units I wanted, *both*, for less than the price of what each guy quoted for *one piece*. $2500 for the furnace, the a/c, and the filter housing! The independent guy quoted $2700 for pulling permits, installing duct work & hooking everything up, so I'll be getting everything done for right around $5200!! Much better than almost $10k, wouldn't you agree!? The cool thing is, with what I saved doing it this way, I'll be able to buy all of my kitchen appliances, and maybe even have enough money in a month or two to be able to get some furniture for the living room!
Damnit, ran out of time - will have to write more later!
