Had to make two trips to the hardware store, but I finally got the 220/240v charger wired up & installed in the garage today. It took me a couple hours (not including travel) because there's no heat out there & it was in the high 20sF. All of my limbs were working in slow motion, and it took me a couple more hours to get warmed back up after I came back in the house.
Once I had the charger installed & operational, I sat in the car for a while, further adjusting parameters that relate to the when/how of charging it up. There's an option to only charge during off-peak hours, and after researching those time frames on our energy provider's website, I entered them into the schedule. Now it'll only charge later at night, when the rates are cheaper, unless I choose to recharge immediately (if, for example, I need to drive it right away).
Looking back on the past week or two, I realize I feel fairly good about the things I've accomplished; tracked down a very rare radio unit & got it sent off for repair then installed it, installed a new kitchen faucet, installed a new reverse osmosis water filter system & faucet, and installed the high-powered charger for the Volt. Not bad, considering how despondent I've been feeling lately!
I've decided that I'm probably going to wait until the 1st of March to really get serious about the workouts & limiting my drinking. I'm going to slowly taper off with the alcohol, and slowly taper up the lifting over the next couple weeks. I think that will put me in better a mental and physical place to begin it properly.
That being said, I want to go have a beer tonight, but being cold for so long today has made me really sleepy. At a minimum, I'd like to got for another drive in my new car though!
