Remember a couplefew days ago when this illness first started, and I wondered if it might have been back/neck related? I spent an hour on the floor today working on loosening up the spinal erector muscles in my mid- and upper back, and have since been sitting, watching tv, and working on that same area with tennis balls (they make really good accupressure tools!), and you want to know what's interesting?
I've gotten a lot of movement from about the middle of my rib cage upwards, had several ribs 'crack' back into place, along with some in my neck, and ever since then, I've been breathing really easily, and most of my congestion is gone. I'm not going so far as to say that was definitely the problem (I do think it was a big part of the problem though), but I think getting my spine back in alignment is helping me heal myself. My headaches, full ears, stuffy nose & post-nasal drip seem to be gone, and I'm feeling a lot better. I don't think I'm over it yet, but I feel well on the way.
My thinking now is that having done heavy weightlifting, and then running (which I normally do) had little to do with it. I think the issue was standing outside in the cold immediately after all of this. I likely got too cold (even if it didn't feel like it at the time), and my back muscles tensed up into a poor alignment.
I've had misalignments in the past that have caused nerve pain in my arms, legs, face, neck, that have interfered with my digestion, and my sleep, and of course, my sinuses and ears. I think this is the 1st time I've corrected my spinal issues and improved my illness on my own, as for the past 15 years, I've always gone to my chiropractor for adjustments.
