After researching a bit more, I think I've decided to wait until next year to get a sauna. Based on the differences in design between the indoor (rectangular) saunas and the outdoor (barrel) ones, I've realized that the barrel is a more efficient design as far as convection is concerned. Heat rises in the center, but then falls down the outer curve of the barrel, meaning there's both a more uniform inside temp, and it would take less energy overall to heat it, as with a rectangular sauna, all of the heat collects at the top, creating a larger temp differential between the top & bottom layers.
Since I now know I want the barrel, I'll need to correct the paver stones on the back outdoor patio to get them all level again, as tree roots have pushed several of them up, making the overall surface uneven. Once that's done, I can have an electrician run power lines out to the patio, and then I'll be ready to install it, either next year when this 'Black Friday' sale comes around again, or earlier, if I happen to find one on clearance.
...
Also, I really feel like I want to go on a date tonight, for multiple reasons (both from recent personal experiences, and from things I've seen/been reminded of lately). As I can't think of anyone to ask (and likely wouldn't, even if I did), I think I'll head to the well for a beer & see how I feel about it. I'm giving myself permission to either leave right away if it doesn't feel right, or stay for a couple, if it does. Definitely not going overboard though, as I don't want to mess with my strength training.
