Got in a nice little cycle ride today - clear roads,a bit overcast, around 28°F (-2.2°C) Face got really cold, but was still nice to get out. Stopped off for lunch @ the pub, then down to the Door to see who was working. Unfortunately neither of the people I wanted to see were in, so I had a drink & left.
GRJ has been feeling much better since her surgery. She & her b/f went to Detroit on Thurs to see a band she's been wanted to see for years. Looks like they had a great time, judging by the pics she posted. It's really good to see her having fun again; she's been having so much trouble physically it's almost like she's been a different person, but now she seems to be getting back to her old self, which is cool.
I'm beginning to think the CC meet-up isn't going to happen. She tried to work it out to come up a day early, but the place that was flying her in for an interview apparently got all weird about her wanting an extra day, so now she told me she has to "run some numbers", which I take to mean (I can't really afford it, but don't want to say no yet". I'm not upset, nor even surprised, really, just disappointed. I'll get over it though, it's not like it's the 1st time this has happened. Maybe I'll be able to take a cycle trip this summer & head down to see her, unless her b/f situation won't make it practical. When things are going poorly, the last thing you want to do is create drama by visiting with someone you used to date, right?
All of that being said, I do still enjoy these little jaunts into hopefulness - it means I haven't quite given up yet.
