Got a couple big projects done this weekend - did a 'mid-winter' cleaning in the bedroom. Cleared out everything but the bed & dresser, opened the windows for a couple hours, cleaned everything up really well, turned the mattress, etc, then rearranged the room. It's got a much better feel now, and it seems to have a lot more room (well, as much as a tiny room can, I guess!). Anyway, it feels a lot better, only thing I have left to do is buy a large wall-mount garment rack (like this or maybe this ?) for all of my running gear, because I tend to just leave it on the floor or hang it over the door when I'm done.
Also re-caulked the shower/tub. It's had a leak somewhere for a few months. After most (but not all!?) showers I'd find water on the floor in the basement so I'd have to run the dehumidifier. I finally picked up the right caulk, cleaned the seam areas & removed all the old caulk (over the previous two days) and did a much more thorough job of it this time. It should be good to go tonight. Was a bigger project than I anticipated, because the old caulk just didn't want to come up. Lots of scraping with a flat razor, mineral spirits, more scraping... Hope I don't have to redo it for quite a while!
Got through my first week of 'organized' workouts last week. One more week, then I can reset to my actual numbers & get a bit more serious. I'm also going to try to start up running again on my off-days. Current schedule will be:
Mon, Tues, Thurs - normal workout (5-3-1 routine, if you'd care to read up on it!)
Wed, Fri - jog/run
Sat - back to strongman training!
Sun - off
Running it three days/week, each wave lasts just over 5 weeks (5 wks + 1 day) and then it all resets with your new 'max' lifts & you start over. It's a long-term plan, and I'll likely be running it for several months. I'm supposed to get information from Grizzly about that contest I was considering last year, so I'll have some target to aim for. If I improve quickly enough, I'd like to enter it this year, but it really depends on when it is, and how I progress with this new program. I think I need to lose about 20 lbs as well, in order to get into a better weight class, but that's a bonus, not something I'm super-focused on at the moment.
Oh, and I had the cycle out this weekend for a bit. Was really nice - quite sunny, and it got up to 29°F I think? I didn't do much, just some shopping. Picked up a Himalayan Salt lamp for the living room, some light switch/outlet wall plates to compliment the vintage MCM ones a buddy gave me, some caulk, new 2ga stainless tunnels for my ear, and some new bulbs for my lava lamp!
Oh, and my ma bought a fancy new 'rustic look' tv stand, and asked for my help putting it together (meaning, come put it together for me!). I stopped over around 5:30p yesterday, and I can't believe how complex this thing was... By the time I got it together & put all her components in it (tv, broadband modem, cable box, wifi router, dvd player) it was late - I didn't get home until after midnight! And of course, I couldn't get to sleep right away, tired as I was, so I stayed up online until after 1a. I'm really draggin' ass today, can't wait to get home on lunch & have another coffee or two!
