I'd written a bunch of banal shit, mundane topics like karaoke, things about the truck, strongman stuff, etc. but none of it really seems worth talking about.
Still not drinking, which I'm pretty pleased with. On top of the fact that I've been feeling pretty good physically, I'm actually doing fairly well with talking to people (and even some cute girls, which is practically unheard of!) Still no luck on the dating front though, although I did get a message on the dating site from a gal wanting to hang out & see a show. Unfortunately, she told me that she had kids. My profile mentions that I'm not intersted in dating someone with kids, but I think it was cool that she took a chance & asked anyway. I did invite her to stop down to the show I was attending that night, saying that new friends were always welcome. She couldn't make it, so I told her if she saw me out some night to feel free to say hi. Pretty good steps for me and my insecurity/introversion, I think! Now if I could only apply it to someone I actually find attractive/interesting (like the girl who's running the open mic night now!) She's a bartender at Lou's and though I've seen her quite a bit, it hasn't been until the last few weeks that we've started talking a bit. She wants me to play the open mic night soon. She played a song last week on guitar & sang, and she sang karaoke the last two weeks, which I think is pretty cool. I think she's seeing someone, but at this point, it doesn't really matter. I like talking with her, she's really cool.
Now I've lost my train of thought - I had more to write, but it's left me. I need to pick three songs to play on guitar for next week's open mic. Or the next week's. Or...
