Gods, I feel like shit tonight. No, I'm not sick, nor did I get drunk - I had to shovel snow. There was about a foot & a half in my drive & walkways, and it was heavy. I spent two hours straight, both shoveling and raking the snow off my roof. The last half hour or so, I could barely raise my arms over my head to move the roof rake back up; I had to rest each time. It may not be a huge driveway, but when the snow is heavy & that deep, each shovelful weighs about ten pounds. Had a protein shake when I finally got in, but by the time I cleaned up & headed out to get some dinner, I was starting to shake a bit. I feel a bit better now, but I really need to eat more when I'm doing something so strenuous.
On the fitness front, I hit another max at strongman on Saturday - 335# deadlift, 10# more than last week. I figure it's because I was fresh/had a few days rest. My overhead press even got me some compliments from the guy who runs it (I need to come up with a name for him, and the other guys, for that matter). Was just me & him again, except his brother for a bit. It's funny - out of all his weightlifting friends, I'm the oldest (by more than a bit) and the only one who shows up regularly!
Oh, and I also managed to not go to a venue at all this weekend! Was nothing interesting going on, nor anyone I knew playing, so I just stayed in. Felt pretty good about it! Unfortunately, I've not been sleeping well, so it hasn't been as beneficial as I'd have liked. Still, I think I'm doing well. I do have plans to go to see my friends play one night next weekend, and my fave band the weekend after that. If I can get through this month with only seeing two shows, I think it'll be a record for me, especially if I don't do any drinking all month (been good so far)!
Also, I bought a bunch of Steely Dan cds (Stepfie, let L know!!), a couple of old Stones, and a Grateful Dead "collection" cd, along with a box set of the full run of an old tv series I discovered several years back that I just love, called "Kung Fu" with David Carradine - it was on sale for over 60% off, and I couldn't resist it! Been watching it on & off for the last few days. I've been on a spending spree the last couple weeks... cds, new running gear/thermals for working out, a new digital camera (did I mention that yet? Will have to post some pics from it & talk about it later.) I also accidentally washed my MP3 player the other night, so I'm probably going to have to spring for another one, unless this dries out soon. I guess it's alright, because I don't really buy much during the year, and I've been putting a lot into savings every week.
Ok, I'm starting to lose focus (as I'm sure most everyone did paragraphs ago) so I'll end it here.
Night, all!
