Not completely nervous, but I just signed papers to have my windows replaced, and rain gutters installed on my house. It's the second time I've had an estimate (and I think it was two different companies), and it came in very close to what I was expecting, but still, it was/is a lot of money. I had to put roughly $1500 down today (on my credit card), and then, when they finish the install in 6-8 weeks, I'll have to pay the balance, which will be around $3700. Not a great price, but reasonable, considering I'm getting 12 windows. Gutters (including downspouts) are running $480 installed.
Just did a quick online search, and the per-window cost is right on par for this area, so I feel a bit better. 35 year manufacturer's warranty, and the installation company doesn't charge any additional labor for repairs.
Oh, and I also found out today that I can install my sub-flooring without needing my flooring, as I should install my cabinets over the sub-floor first and then install the tile/laminate/etc. A little ceiling plaster repair, and some paint this weekend, and I might have my cabinets up soon!(I wonder how many times I'm going to say that!)
