Managed another run fairly well today - the 7m run/3 m walk/3 rds seems to be a good plan for now, as I only ran once last week & I was still able to do this today with no issues. Hopefully, as I get more consistent, I'll be able to advance the schedule, but I'm not going to push it, I'm just happy that I can cover 2.5 miles or so at this point!
After the run, I took a hot shower to clean up (as I still don't have anything to keep the water clear beyond the filter), and then took another dip. 49.6°F today, but I managed to stay in for two minutes. The pain in my hands & feet are still pretty harsh, but now that I 'realize' it's not going to do any damage to me, I can just mentally try to dismiss it, and that's been going well. After the dip, I took a quick walk through my backyard in my suit & flops. It was in the low 40s, but felt pretty good. I also think I figured out how to deal with the back issue, as I took some time afterwards tonight, to work my back on a foam roller. Got quite a few things to move/crack, and I didn't have that overly-harsh reaction, so I think it went well.
I can't say for sure, but it feels like it's helping my metabolism a bit too. I was already comfortable by the time I had dinner (not still cold like the 1st night), but after eating, i found myself warming up quite a bit. I don't recall that happening before, so is it real, or just placebo? I'm tending towards real, but I'll keep an eye on it going forward. I do know that my run seemed a bit easier today, but then, it was warmer too, so it's hard to make attributions.
