I'm having an issue currently that's both good and bad. The issue is that, ever since I cut wheat out of my diet, my health has been improving. My digestion seems to finally be working the way it's supposed to be, I've lost a little more weight, and I think I'm starting to sleep better (might be too soon to tell with that though).
The negative aspect is actually a positive as well, but the current symptoms are negative. My right hip that's been out of alignment since I was (now that I think of it, 20-21) is finally starting to move & release (with a lot of manual work on it).
I'm now convinced that what my chiropractor assumed was a congenital defect with hip was actually an injury caused by the major car accident I was in at that age. It was a combined-speed crash of 110mph (each car going 55 in opposite directions. My car slid across the line & their car t-boned my passenger door. I wasn't wearing a seatbelt (because my grandparents had cut off the shoulder strap & I didn't feel safe with just a lap belt), so when we hit, I slid sideways into the passenger door, my hip landing against the armrest, my shoulders just high enough to be above the door, and my head going out the window. I think this explains both the sharp zig-zag shape of my spine, and my "folded" hip.
Anyway, I've been doing a lot of spinal twists (Supta Matsyendrasana, for you yogis), and although I've been doing them for years, in the past two weeks I've actually felt the space between my hip bone & spine start to open up. I've also been using a tennis ball for accupressure to release those tiny support muscles. They were so tender I had to take a pain pill the last two nights, but it's really helping. I'm not sure, but I even think my hips were even (height-wise) without my heel shim after my workout tonight, and that's never happened before. I'm hoping that my hip will keep improving, and that the rest of my spine will get used to it soon. My neck was so out of whack tonight while lifting that a nerve leading to a filling I had done a few years ago in a tooth started hurting! Talk about weird, my body does some of the strangest things sometimes...
Anyway, too much writing, sorry about that. Just wanted to get all this down for future reference. Hope you're all well.
