Got a notice in my email that the dating-site gal had responded to me. I haven't logged in to read it or reply yet, but the preview of the message basically said that, between the distance (1h 15m 1-way) and our mismatched schedules, she thinks we're not going to be a match. She did say that I seemed to be an 'awesome person', though, so I guess I can take some little comfort in that.
This is the 2nd or 3rd time that a 'schedule conflict' has torpedoed a match before we even had a chance to meet. I never even thought about that being an issue, as I work a normal (albeit early) M-F, 1st shift job. Anyway, she had also mentioned in her profile that she was looking for a hiking friend, as well as someone to date, so I'm a little surprised she didn't offer that as an option, rather than turn me down completely, but people have to do what's right for them, I suppose.
I'm disappointed. I guess I still don't understand people.
