I think the last two weeks has confirmed that over-training has been my issue with most every health problem I've had (aside from sleep). Not even a hint of that major back issue I'd been having (just the typical little ones, which themselves are improving), nor any digestive issues. My right hip that's been misaligned for decades has even improved, and for the 1st time since I started going to the chiropractor, my hips did not need any adjustment at my appointment yesterday! This is partially due to my having finally taught myself to correct my walking/standing posture. I won't go into the details, but I'm able to walk 1-2 miles quite easily now, whereas before, my right hip area would always start hurting after a mile or so.
I'd considered having a beer next weekend once I hit my 1 year mark sans alcohol, but now I'm thinking I may just have a doughnut or something with wheat in it, as a test. Really not sure if I want to get sucked back into the local drinking culture at this point. If I had friends, or a girlfriend with whom to have a drink or two occasionally, it might be different, but if I end up having a good time while having a drink, I'll likely keep going back to it out of loneliness/desire to socialize, which is not a healthy thing for me. Although I suppose I could have a beer at home, but ... meh, I don't know - anyway, I've got a week to consider it.
Weight training is going well with the new plan. I've got one more month with the current one, and then I go to 3 months of something called Myo-Reps. It's a plan I've done before and have been successful with and enjoyed, and it's structured so I won't be tempted to go overboard with the weight/rep increases like I usually do. After that (if all goes well), I found an article online that described an off-season strongman training plan but had no spreadsheet, so I opened an Excel file & created an interactive spreadsheet for it. It's also for 3 months, and while there are some heavier weight days in it, there are also medium and light-weight days as well, and only 3 days per week. I'm hoping to be able to do that one too starting in January, but it will all depend on the next 4 months.
Heading out on the cycle in a few. I'm at roughly 9400 miles since I bought it and need to get near 10000 to get the last prepaid service done. After today I should be near 9600, and I was considering making a day-trip up to the Traverse City area again during the next holiday weekend to hit my goal (it's about 200 miles one-way), but haven't decided yet. It will depend on the weather, and maybe whether or not the Sleeping Bear Dunes scenic loop is open again yet.
I had more to write, but have lost whatever it was now. Hrmph.
