Had my 2nd massage yesterday, and the therapist said she noticed a difference in how tight my back was (meaning, less than before). I still haven't used the tennis ball on my back, even though I'm still a bit miserable sitting at work. Anyway, she was able to use more pressure this time, and address areas she couldn't before, and made some progress with my right shoulder/hip & right side of my spine. I felt much better afterwards (as an aside, I'm going to continue to go once per month).
The interesting thing to me was the fact that, even though I didn't sleep well according to my Oura ring data, it's the 1st night I can recall being in bed the entire night & not being in pain, without having taken any pain meds. And I mean, 1st time in years, maybe decades. And that made me wonder if a part of my ongoing depression has been caused by constant, chronic back/neck pain. (I'm hurting a bit again today, but that's still progress.) I mean, I'm feeling better mentally, but that may just be placebo from hoping this long-term issue might finally get resolved.
Anyway, workouts are slowly coming together (even though my shoulder isn't quite ready yet), and I'm able to walk 2 miles without too much hip pain at the moment, so I'm fairly pleased.
Unfortunately, between the long day on the cycle Saturday, and the massage on Sunday (and then shopping/cooking for the week), I was unable to start on my welding project. I'm hoping to get things set up/organized this week, and then getting some practice in next weekend. If this project works like I hope, I'll have a little wood-fired grill too cook on!
