I had a pretty awesome day today (and I don't say that lightly, you know)!
1st, the market is being dumb right now, but in a good way - my brokerage account jumped 4% today alone! Overall, I'm up over 25% since opening it 3 months ago- pretty cool!
Next, I'd gone to the cycle shop Saturday to pick up my Indian battery, and have them look up a part number for the wire harness for my old cycle, since I'm almost positive that's been the major issue (the other repairs needed to be done anyway, so no biggie). Well, according to their 'parts locator' network, there was only one left in the entire country! (Weird, I had the same issue with my Volt radio, remember?) Found it in Tampa, so I called them today to see if they really had it, or if it was just an inventory error (happens all the time). I gave the parts guy down there the part number & he confirmed that their system said they had it, then went to check... He came back a minute later & was like "I have no idea why, but yeah, we still have it!". I immediately asked him to take my info & send it to me, because, what are the chances I could find another, even used? I got lucky too, because he could've been a jerk & asked a lot of money for it (being so rare), but no, he charged me list price plus shipping, which was only $20. I'm really relieved that I've got this part coming - now I can have that replaced this spring, and most of the intermittent issues on the bike should be resolved!
3rd, while talking to Justin (service manager bud) I found out that his mechanic has now installed a set of the plastic trim pieces on a fender for the Indian valanced front fender, for a guy who's notoriously picky, and he was very happy with it. That means that, after clearing it with Justin (ensuring their schedule is open enough to get to it now), I'm scheduled to drop off all the front fender parts on Friday, to have them installed. They're also going to wire up the GPS unit I bought off the discussion board, and he's going to order the quick-release passenger backrest that I've been wanting (said he could get me a 'shop-discount'!). So now, I finally have something for which I can use all those gift cards I've been stuck with! I think, honestly, those were the last things I wanted to have done to the new bike, so i shouldn't have to spend any more money on it, aside from new tires eventually. I even prepaid for the service, so no bills there either.
There's been one nagging negative thing though; for the past month or so, I've had a pinched nerve in my neck that's been causing an ache from my neck, across the top-back of my shoulder, and down to my left elbow, that comes & goes depending on how I sit/stand. I haven't let it stop my workouts, but I've had to be very cautious about how I do things. Oh, how could I forget? I had one other issue (back related). Late last week, something went really out of place in my thoracic spine (T11-ish?), at whatever level controls the diaphragm for breathing. I tried to work it out in my chair at my desk, but eventually had to find an empty room to lie down in for 15-20 minutes, which it didn't help. Face was red, could only take shallow breaths, adrenaline was high, thought I would pass out.
Ended up having to leave work to drive home for some prescription pain meds I've been saving, and to lie on the floor to try to find some relief. I almost had to pull over 3-4 times on the 4.5 mile drive home, it was so bad, and then when I got there, I took the meds, but couldn't find a helpful position no matter what I did, for over an hour. Cold sweats, couldn't breath... it actually scared me a bit, even though I knew what was wrong (it's happened many times before, but *never* this bad). Eventually I found that lying on my right side in a fetal position with my head supported, minimized the issue, and within 15-20 minutes, whatever had been out of place had slipped back in place, because when i got up maybe 10-15 minutes later, my back felt fine, though a bit tender.
i went back to work, finished the day with no issues, and have been (relatively) fine ever since. I guess that was just one more thing telling me to get back to the chiropractor! Did I mention I'm scheduled for a new patient visit on Feb 8th? Pretty relieved, and looking forward to it. Hopefully they can get me straightened out (Ha! See what I did there?)
Ok, enough rambling, sorry for such a long entry...
