So, I guess I was a bit avoidant today - I didn't reply to the request for volunteers. I'd considered writing my boss a brief explanation regarding my reasons, but as soon as I started thinking about actually doing it, my anxiety shot through the roof, so I figured I'd let it go & deal with any fallout when/if that time came.
Apparently they got enough volunteers, because it never came up. I feel so much relief about not having to go out there. Even after the talking-to at the meeting that the production/maintenance team leaders got about everyone wearing their masks properly, I still was counting non-conformities every time I walked through the plant. Today for example, I counted 10-12 incidents within 50 feet of our department's door, which is about how far I have to walk to the break room, and I only did that three times. Yesterday, it was more like 15-18, One day last week I stopped counting around 25. It's mostly people wearing it below their nose, but still, I'm like, "You're wearing it already, why half-ass it?"
Anyway, no production work for me. I may be being overly cautious, but if you've ever heard me talk about online security & privacy, you know that 'paranoia' is my jam! I'd much rather be too careful & stay healthy than be careless & possibly die.
Still lifting strongman-style 2 days a week & running 4, but I may taper down on the running. I didn't run yesterday, and my lifting went much better tonight. I cut one meal out of my day a couple months ago to reduce calories and I feel pretty good about it, but I may not be eating enough to support what I'm doing. I'll have to actually do a few calorie counts next week & see where I'm at. One positive thing I've achieved is I've all but eliminated wheat products from my diet.Everything grain-related that I eat now is either rice, corn, oats, or potatoes. It seems to have had a positive effect, so I'm sticking with it for a while (I've even cut out beer!). Only drinks I'm having now are with diet sodas & either gin or rum, or a hard seltzer I found called White Claw, I think? Very subtle flavor, not too sweet, but very light & enjoyable.
