This occurred to me last night... As a general rule, people's situations, their life-circumstances inevitably change through the years, and they grow into new people & move on from their past, based on new experiences & interactions with others.
Not me. My life has been essentially the same for decades. The one thing I'm starting to see clearly from this is that, (again, as a general rule) I will likely never have people stay in my life long-term. This isn't to be lamented or railed against, but accepted - it's just a fact of life. People will come into my life when we have things in common, or lessons to teach/learn from each other, and they'll leave when one (or both) of our situations change. This is just how life is, and is a thing I'll need to remember as the years go by.
My life will be much more peaceful if I can remember and accept this.
