So I got my (reimbursement) expense check back from my recent work conference & I'm trying to decide what I should do with it.
I had enough in checking to handle the cost, so I don't necessarily need to put it back. I'm of two minds right now & either one is acceptable...
1) The amount is just under the cost of the disc brake conversion for the front of the Dodge, so I could use it for that & be one step closer to getting it on the road. I've already budgeted for the disc kit in the "Dodge fund" though, and I will be getting it regardless.
2) The amount is also roughly how much I've been thinking of spending on a new (to me) acoustic/electric guitar. My current guitar is functional, but it carries odd overtones & also doesn't have electronics on board, which makes it difficult if/when I want to try an open mic night again.
I've had this guitar for almost 20 years. I like it, but I'm kind of wanting something nicer. On the other hand, I'm quite used to living with what I have & rarely buy myself anything new that's not a necessity (large purchases anyway) - it feels frivolous/self-indulgent, and I'm not used to/comfortable with that.
So, I guess the question is, brakes or guitar, and your thoughts on why/why not for either!?
