I'm trying to get my nerve up to play open mic tonight, but I wanted to do three new songs (well, not new to me, just not the three I've played the last couple times). My voice has been flaky the last week or so, in that I've been hit-or-miss in reaching the higher notes. Think I'll run through them on lunch today, and if it goes well, I'll go ahead & sign up.
I'm starting to not like my guitar's sound. It's a good guitar, but it's fairly low-end, and after hearing some others that are of much better quality, I can hear the difference. Been talking to the Train_Man about buying his old one, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. I'm just hopeful that I can find another guitar that's as easy to play as mine - the last couple I tried weren't really comfortable.
Workouts are finally starting to go well again, when I can avoid being depressed long enough to not drink. My last drink was a week ago yesterday, and currently, I have no desire for another. I've successfully quit drinking pop, aside from an occasional energy drink, maybe once/twice a month. That's pretty good, considering I was drinking the equivalent of 2-3 20oz bottles of of Diet Dew a day before. Unfortunately for me, if I'm going out & not drinking, my go-to has always been diet pop; not sure what I'll do about that now!?
Oh yeah, I cut my beard this past weekend, so now I'm back to neatly-trimmed, short facial hair. Got a haircut yesterday as well, so I'm feeling all semi-cleancut now.
