Ye gods, was it hard as hell to get my ass out the door tonight, but I did it. Really tough day at work today, mentally draining. Got home and realized I must have been sitting poorly all day, because my neck was a lot worse than it had been. Had some coffee, a little cereal, checked my email, then headed out for another run. Still only a mile, and I was pretty slow tonight, but I managed to get through it without stopping. That's two days this week, plus golf, so even if I'm not doing great, at least I'm not a total slacker. I think this weekend, I'm going to try to add a little weightlifting back in. Likely just deadlifts, seated rows & "face pulls" (closest example I could find). It seems to be the pressing movements that mess with my shoulder (overhead and bench press), and squats put my arms in an awkward position. Maybe keeping up on those three basics will help me maintain a bit of strength. In addition, of course, to the running.
(And in answer to elusive-you's question in my notes, it's not a regular futon mattress - it's like this one. Very firm, yet yielding shredded, recycled cloth, I believe. I just keep flipping and turning it every 6 months or so. Still, the frame creaks like hell every time I move, and I have trouble finding pillows that support my neck, as I'm a side sleeper and my shoulders can't really sink in to a mattress like this...) :-( Anyone have a suggestion for a good mattress for a heavy side sleeper (meaning, I'm heavy, not a heavy sleeper! I can't do pillow-top mattresses.)
